There is a lot that goes on at Lima Community Church. God is doing some incredible things. There is never enough time to tell all the stories and share all of the announcements during a normal service so you can find that information here. Make sure you contact us with any questions. We'd love to hear from you.

Each year, we celebrate Faith Promise weekend as a time to focus on what God is doing through Lima Community Church to support local and worldwide missions. During the weekend services on March 20 & 21, Camille Melki will share with us about his ministry as Director of Heart for Lebanon. Heart for Lebanon began in response to the overwhelming needs resulting from the July 2006 war in Lebanon. This organization provided relief and compassionate ministry, reaching out to the neediest of needy during this post-war time. As the relief projects came to a close, Heart for Lebanon wanted to continue on and turned its focus toward community development projects. Some of their projects include providing scholarships to keep children in a safe school environment with a strong emphasis on ethics and moral behavior as well as providing relief packages to Iraqi refugee families, and providing neighborhoods with desperately needed social and medical support. As we prepare for this important weekend, please continue praying and asking the Holy Spirit about your role in missions and how you can be part of reaching others for Christ. This special offering collection will begin September 11th and continue through December 5th in all of Family Ministry - Rainbow Island, Segullah Clubhouse, Collision, and HSM. The money brought in will benefit "Meals ‘til Monday" - a nonprofit organization that provides nutritional kid-friendly weekend meals for children whose primary source of food is the school cafeteria. Staffed by volunteers and funded by donations, volunteers pack food on Monday afternoons to be discreetly delivered to students at Elida Elementary every Friday. It costs just $3.50 for 2 breakfasts and 2 lunches for 1 child for 1 weekend. Or, $140.00 for 1 child for 1 school year. For more information go to www.mealstilmonday.org

This fall LimaCC will once again partner with Samaritan’s Purse in filling shoeboxes for children in desperate situations all across the world. Shoeboxes will be sent to boys and girls ages 2-14, and may include various items such as small toys, stuffed animals, school supplies, coloring books, etc. A complete list of gift ideas is available at the Information Counter of each venue. Now that Back-to-School sales have started, you may want to pick up some additional items to save for your gift boxes later this fall. And, as you’re buying school shoes and gym shoes, be sure to hold on to those shoe boxes! Standard size shoeboxes or plastic shoeboxes available in most stores work best. No boot boxes please. Questions? Call Amy at 419-223-9646 ext 1118.

LimaCC will be taking a team of volunteers to the One Heart Many Hands outreach in Columbus the week of July 25 - 30, 2010. This will be an opportunity to make a difference through repairing homes, cleaning parks, painting, and much more as we partner with the Lower Lights ministry in Columbus, reaching the low income areas of that city with the love of Christ. If you would like to help with this project but are not able to go to Columbus, monetary donations for supplies would also be appreciated! For more information, please contact Ken Burgei at 419-234-2156 or stop by the Missions counter located in Lima Live’s foyer area to get more info and sign up.

As relief efforts continue in Haiti, many of us would like to help contribute to the disaster relief efforts currently underway. If you would like to contribute to this effort, you can place your donation in the offering or in the clear boxes located on the back wall of the sanctuary. Please make checks payable to Samaritan’s Purse or place cash donations in an envelope marked “Haiti Relief.” If you prefer to donate on-line, you can visit our website at www.LimaCC.com for links to Samaritan’s Purse and H.I.S. Home for Children – Haiti Orphanage.
